Reconciler Almost Weekly Update

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The LORD is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.

- Psalm 145:13

All the deeds of the Lord are miraculous. From the act of creation, to our createdness and our adoption into God's Body...miracle after miracle rains down from heaven. Grace and Peace to you this day.

Life at Reconciler seems not to be slowing down with the heat wave, but actually speeding up. I don't know whether I should praise God (most likely) or slow down with a pitcher of sweet tea (preferred option). In either case, I am thrilled at what we have been witnessing in our midst.

The search process continues apace. Rev. Laura Gittardi-Littel will be preaching again on August 13. If you have any questions about the search process contact Will Swanson.

The Episcopal Church has been present among us through the ministry of both Laura and Rev. Cynthia Hallas. This past Sunday Cynthia presided at the altar, and Laura served as her deacon. We are continually blessed by their presence.

The Pastoral Team is preparing another Bible study and we need to know what night works best for everyone. Tripp, due to other conflicts, will not be able to lead on Wednesday evenings. So, is it possible for us to meet on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. Respond via e-mail or at the service on Sunday evening. Our next Bible study will be an exploration of Acts and the Rule of St. Benedict.

The church retreat will be on August 26th from 10am - 2pm at Immanuel Lutheran. Rev. Dan Prechtel will lead us. Following the retreat there will be a BBQ at Will and Chrissy Swanson's apartment. More specific details will follow.

Larry and Kate will be away August 9th through the 14th as well as Labor Day weekend. If there are any pastoral needs during that time, please contact Tripp.

Finally, remember to keep the evening of September 10th free. We will not be worshiping at Immanuel Lutheran that evening. In stead we will be worshiping with the Community Church of Wilmette as they formally install Tripp as their pastor.

May God grant you peace this day and all the days of your life.
