I am not sure what I think about a logo for the church, yet, but there you go.

Thoughts?

  1. A bit of explanation is perhaps needed for a full reflection:
In Greek the word for fish (ichtus) forms the acronym for Jesus Christ Son of God Savior. Thus the fishes on cars etc. Early on in Christian thought the story of the loaves and fishes in the feeding of the multitudes is seen as a symbol and prefiguring of the Eucharistic meal of holy communion. When you combine ICHTUS as an anchronym of the names and titles of Jesus with the story of the loaves and fishes as prefiguring holy communion one gets the fish and chalice symbol to represent communion and Christs offering of himself to us in this way. The Orthodox icon of the Last/Mystical Supper retains this ancient symbol and has the fish in a chalice on the table.
The logo that was created also has the three interlocking circles representing the Holy Trinity with the fish and chalice at the center.
