Reconciler invites you to participate in neighborhood community action with the Organization of the Northeast.

Real estate company FLATS is buying buildings in Uptown and Edgewater. Though they are attempting to find new housing for the low-income residents they’re displacing, ONE is concerned about the net loss of affordable housing in the neighborhood. Many of the displaced people will have to leave their neighborhood. For vulnerable groups such as those who are disabled or mentally ill, this is quite destabilizing.

ONE proposed that 20% of all FLATS units remain close to what the rents were prior the purchase of the properties. ONE is willing to connect FLATS with resources to retain the affordability of that 20%. If you are passionate about justice and want to be active in your local community, we invite you to join Reconciler leadership and ONE in encouraging  FLATS to consider a vision for development that benefits all of our neighbors.
